The Baldwin Toys Wooden Snake is a handcrafted, articulated 15-inch heirloom toy made entirely by artist Steve Baldwin in Hickman, Nebraska from locally sourced hardwoods — walnut, cherry, maple, paduak, and bubinga — harvested from trees in Nebraska and the surrounding states. No paints, stains, nails, or screws are used at any point; the only finish is non-toxic food-grade mineral oil, making it completely safe for babies and toddlers while showcasing the natural grain and color of each unique wood species. Because every snake is cut from a different piece of naturally figured wood, no two are exactly alike — making each one a genuinely one-of-a-kind heirloom.
