How it's made
US-manufactured, mostly imported materials
The 2026 Tesla Model Y — now in its refreshed "Juniper" generation — is an all-electric 5-passenger midsize SUV assembled at Tesla's Gigafactory Texas in Austin and Fremont Factory in California, available in three trims: Premium RWD ($45,990), Premium AWD ($49,990), and Performance AWD ($57,990). The Long Range AWD delivers up to 320 miles of EPA-estimated range, 397 combined horsepower, and a 4.1-second 0–60 mph time, while the Performance AWD hits 460 hp and 0–60 in 3.3 seconds — all charged at up to 250kW on Tesla's Supercharger network. New for 2026, the refreshed interior features a 15.4-inch front touchscreen, a new 8-inch rear passenger touchscreen for climate, entertainment, and seat adjustment, 65W dual USB-C rear charging, improved Wi-Fi up to 300% faster, and a more comfortable ride from reengineered suspension — backed by Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system as an $8,000 option.
Why the USAmade Score™ is 5/10
US-destined Model Y units are assembled at Tesla's Gigafactory Texas in Austin and Fremont Factory in California — confirmed domestic assembly. However, key components including battery cells, semiconductors, and numerous drivetrain parts are globally sourced, with some battery cells originating from CATL in China and Panasonic in Japan or Nevada depending on configuration.
